However, a question we get asked regularly ‘is triple glazing so much better the double glazing and is it worth the additional cost’? so here is our blog in which we answer this common question.
There is no doubt that triple glazing can offer a benefits over double glazing such as
But, does it save you money?
To put it into simple term, if your house has 10 windows and your heating bill is £500 per year
You will lose around 20% of your energy through your windows which will equal around £10 per window
If you fit triple glazing you will reduce this energy lose by between £1 and £1.50 per year per window
So, if it cost around £50 per window extra to fit triple glazing then it will be around 35 years before it starts paying you anything back, by which time your windows will probably need replacing again.
There are a few reasons why triple glazing may be right for your i.e. to reduce noise pollution and prevent condensation but saving money is not one of them
